Itinerary


1. Arrive Copenhagen
Arrive in Copenhagen and be transferred to your hotel. Get to know your APT Tour Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception this evening.

2. Copenhagen
Join a local guide and tour Copenhagen. Admire Amalienborg Palace, originally built in the 1750s and is still the prime residence of the Danish Royal Family. Tonight at the beautiful Tivoli Gardens, enjoy a delicious dinner in this majestic setting.

3. Copenhagen, Bergen
Take an included flight to Bergen in Norway. Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant tonight.

4. Bergen
Enjoy time to explore the wondrous city of Bergen, surrounded by spectacular mountains and fjords.

5. Bergen, Lofthus
Visit a fjordside fruit farm, in the area known as ‘Norway’s fruit orchard’, where you will stop for morning tea. Afterwards, enjoy a cruise on the pristine Hardangerfjord, the fourth longest fjord in the world, before arriving in Lofthus.

6. Lofthus, Flåm
Visit the village of Gudvangen, where you will enjoy a relaxing cruise on Nærøyfjord, a sublime fjord that is surrounded by towering mountains up to 1,700 metres high. Take a ride on the Flåm Railway, a mountainous rail line often considered to be one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world.

7. Flåm, Geiranger
Travel to Geiranger stopping along the way at Briksdal Glacier. Ride to the glacier in a ‘troll car’ and enjoy lunch.

8. Geiranger
Subject to weather conditions, delight in a visit to Dalsnibba Mountain. Afterwards, take a cruise on Geiranger Fjord. Be astounded by the deep blue waters of this UNESCO-protected area, engulfed by majestic mountain peaks.

9. Geiranger, Ålesund
On your way to Ålesund, journey on the Trollstiegen road, one of the most scenic roads in the world.

10. Ålesund, Oslo
Fly to Oslo and enjoy a city tour, including a visit to the Kon-Tiki Museum, which details the expeditions of Thor Heyerdahl, including Kon-Tiki, Easter Island and Tùcume.

11. Oslo, Färna Herrgård
Upon arrival at Färna Herrgård in Sweden, choose your evening activity.

12. Färna Herrgård, Sigtuna, Stockholm
Enjoy a leisurely start before departing for Stockholm. Visit Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town which features a medieval town square, low built wooden houses, old church ruins and runic stones. Tonight, enjoy dinner at renowned local restaurant, Eriks Gondolen.

13. Stockholm
Discover Stockholm on a city tour, including a visit to the Vasa Ship Museum. Later, choose your activity.

14. Stockholm, Helsinki
Fly to Helsinki, where a guided tour takes you to sights including the Temppeliaukio Rock Church.

15. Helsinki
Spend a day in Nuuksio National Park, where an authentic encounter has been arranged.

16. Helsinki, St Petersburg
Board the Allegro high-speed train to St Petersburg.

17. St Petersburg, Embark Ship
Travel to the imperial residence of Peterhof Palace, where you will enjoy a guided tour. Later, board your river ship.

18. St Petersburg
After breakfast today, head out to enjoy a tour of the lavish Catherine Palace and grounds, which was constructed in the 18th century as a summer palace for the Empress. After spending time exploring here, spend the afternoon at your leisure to take in the sights of St Petersburg.

19. St Petersburg
Take a Hydrofoil ride over the waters of the Neva River to the State Hermitage for a tour of the museum. Forming part of the Winter Palace, it is home to Russia’s royal art collection of more than three million works.

20. Lake Ladoga, Mandrogi
After cruising through the night, dock in Mandrogi, a charming village teeming with traditional houses. Afterwards, spend time at leisure to look around and browse the handmade trinkets for sale.

21. Lake Onega, Kizhi Island
Situated on Lake Onega, Kizhi is home to some of Russia’s most amazing wooden architecture. Explore the open-air museum of wooden buildings and marvel at the World Heritage-listed Transfiguration Church, built in 1714 without the use of a single nail.

22. White Lake, Goritsy
Today cruise onto the White Lake, then dock in Goritsy, a small and peaceful farming town. Your guided tour here includes a visit to the Monastery of St Cyril on the White Lake and its Museum of Icons.

23. Yaroslavl
Today stop in the historic Golden Ring city, Yaroslavl. Founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise in 1010, this is one of Russia’s oldest cities, tracing its roots back to the Vikings. Here, a sightseeing tour illuminates the city’s history through its glorious architecture, including Spassky Monastery and the Church of Elia the Prophet.

Dock in another Golden Ring city, Uglich. Here, select your preferred activity.

25. Moscow
Dock in Moscow this afternoon and enjoy an insightful tour of Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral.

26. Moscow
Take a guided tour of the Armoury Museum within the walls of the Kremlin, a historic fortified complex that was once the royal residence of the Tsars. Later, personalise your experience with a choice of activities.

27. Moscow, Disembark Ship
Marvel at some of Moscow’s unique Metro stations, which feature chandeliers and marble statues. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner, accompanied by traditional Russian folklore.

28. Depart Moscow
Transfer to the airport.
