1. Arrive Helsinki
Be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Get to know your APT Tour Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception this evening.

2. Helsinki
A guided tour takes you to sights including the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure before dinner.

After breakfast, board the Allegro high-speed train to St Petersburg.

5. St Petersburg, Embark Ship
Travel to Peterhof Palace for a tour. Later, board your river ship.

6. St Petersburg
After breakfast today, head out to enjoy a tour of the lavish Catherine Palace and grounds, which was constructed in the 18th century as a summer palace for the Empress. After spending time exploring here, spend the afternoon at your leisure to take in the sights of St Petersburg. Tonight, appreciate Russia’s arts scene as you delight in a ballet performance at the famous Hermitage Theatre, one of the most renowned theatres in the world.

7. St Petersburg
After the ceremony, tour the museum. Forming part of the Winter Palace, it is home to Russia’s royal art collection of more than three million works. This afternoon, a sightseeing tour will take you to see such attractions as St Isaac’s Cathedral, the Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square and the Peter & Paul Fortress.

8. Lake Ladoga, Svirstroy
Afterwards, spend time at leisure to look around and browse handmade trinkets for sale.

9. Lake Onega, Kizhi Island
Situated on Lake Onega, Kizhi is home to some of Russia’s most amazing wooden architecture. Explore the open-air museum of wooden buildings and marvel at the World Heritage-listed Transfiguration Church, built in 1714 without the use of a single nail.

10. White Lake, Goritsy
Today cruise onto the White Lake and the Volga-Baltic Waterway. Then dock in Goritsy, a small and peaceful farming town. Your guided tour here includes a visit to the Monastery of St Cyril on the White Lake and its Museum of Icons.

11. Yaroslavl
Today stop in another Golden Ring city, Yaroslavl. Founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise in 1010, this is one of Russia’s oldest cities, tracing its roots back to the Vikings. Here, a sightseeing tour illuminates the city’s history through its glorious architecture, including Spassy Monastery and the Church of Elia the Prophet.

Cruise along the Moscow Canal on the way to the Volga River, and dock in the historic Golden Ring city of Uglich. On a guided tour, visit the Kremlin and the Church of St Demetrios on the Blood.

Take a guided tour of the Armoury Museum within the walls of the Kremlin, a historic fortified complex that was once the royal residence of the Czars.

15. Moscow, Disembark Ship
This morning, disembark your ship for the final time. Embark on a tour that includes Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, Poklonnaya Hill and the Cathedral of Christ the Redeemer. You’ll also ride the Moscow Metro. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner, accompanied by Russian folklore.
